The GeoAcoustics Dual Frequency Side scan system has become an industry standard, being the world’s best selling professional side scan system, with more than 700 systems sold.  It offers unparalleled reliability, flexibility, ease of use and maintenance and is also extremely cost effective.

The system allows operation using a single low drag coaxial cable of up to 4000m for operation at up to 1000m depth.  The standard aluminium towfish is lightweight enough to be deployed by one person, or can be fully weighted to allow deeper operation.  The complete towfish and deck unit can be used with most acquisition and processing systems.  There are optional extras including a full towfish instrumentation package (heading, pitch, roll, depth, responder options, altimeter), and a stainless towfish.

GeoAcoustics Digital Side Scan Sonar – an advanced digital system highly suited to ROV & AUV mounting.

The GeoAcoustics Digital Side Scan (DSSS) is the highest dynamic range single beam dual frequency side scan commercially available.  This highly advanced system allows precisely repeatable seabed feature mapping in a robust and reliable package.  The system utilises high resolution direct digital sampling of the received signals, and full digital processing. This new technology offers unprecedented resolution and dynamic range (24 bit), simultaneous dual frequency operation (114/410 kHz), digital filters, pulse width auto adjust to optimise for any sample rate setting and a new high speed digital link enabling very long lengths of low drag co-axial tow cable to be used. The system configuration, low power and small size make this system ideally suited for installation onto a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) as well as combined profiler/magnetometer tow fish.
